This course provides an overview of the key constructs of the dynamics of family systems as they develop and change. Social work practice with families will be explored through an ecological perspective, and micro, mezzo and macro practice with families will be covered. Students will be introduced to a variety of assessment tools and theoretical models to help them assess and intervene with families. Classes will include a combination of lectures, case analysis, and group discussion. This course is a major requirement of the four year BSW and After Degree programs.
