REL 395 – The Gospel of Mark

The students will work through the text of Mark both individually, and in the seminar format of the course. Discussions will focus on the biblical text, topics arising from the analysis of the text using various methodological approaches, intertextual concerns, and the inevitable questions concerning leadership and discipleship that emerge from this material. A key learning goal is the development of skills in the reading and evaluation of the biblical text, other primary texts, and the secondary sources associated with their interpretation.
